The Western Central Regional Police Command has detained two men, Foster Delord, 40, and Prince Worvi, 38, for allegedly posing as Ghana Gold Board Taskforce officials to extort money from gold dealers. The suspects, who claimed to be former military officers, were arrested after reports emerged of their fraudulent activities targeting local traders.

Authorities recovered a pair of handcuffs, a pepper spray canister, an electric shock device, a uniform, and GHS 500 in cash from the suspects. They have been brought before the Tarkwa Circuit Court and remanded in custody as investigations continue.

Police are advising the public to stay vigilant and verify the credentials of individuals claiming to represent government agencies.
