President John Dramani Mahama has revealed that the Ministry of Finance will soon grant financial clearance to enable region-based recruitment into Ghana’s security services.

The clearance will allocate quotas for each region to recruit young individuals into various security agencies, including the police, military, fire service, immigration, and prison service.

Addressing a durbar during his ‘Thank You Tour’ in the Western North Region on Tuesday, July 15, President Mahama emphasized his government’s commitment to decentralizing security sector recruitment.

“We promised to decentralize recruitment into the security services. We’re awaiting financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance, and once approved, every region will have a quota to enlist our youth into the security services,” he said.
