An Indian national arrested for sexually abusing an 11-year old girl in Baastona

An Indian national identified as Nisar Khan, allegedly posing as a quality control specialist, has been apprehended by the Baatsona District Police for allegedly assaulting an 11-year-old girl in Baastona, Greater Accra Region.

According to the source, the suspect, Mr. Khan is reported to have posed as a good Samaritan to the mother of the victim. He, then requested for the assistance of the girl to help him run errands at a guest house where the suspect had domiciled.

According to the staff of the guest house, Mr. Khan, logged in with the young girl on Friday 18th of July, 2025. The staff grew suspicious of the situation.

Their suspicions intensified on Wednesday, July 23, when staff reportedly heard distressing screams coming from Khan’s room.

Upon investigating, they discovered the man was in the act of attempting to assault the minor.

According to witnesses, the girl was found wrapped in a cloth with Khan in the same room. Surveillance footage reportedly confirms the man was caught red-handed.

Police swiftly intervened, and Khan was handed over to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) in Baastona, where he is currently assisting with investigations.

The victim has been sent to the Police Hospital to undergo medical examination to support or otherwise claims of sexual abuse.
